Who is this for?

Whether you are an individual designer or engineer, or from a large organisation our lighting awareness course will provide you with a foundation of knowledge that you can tailor to meet the needs of your profession, within your own timescale to suit your job or other commitments. It will launch you from little to no knowledge of lighting, to a well rounded understanding of the issues surrounding lighting application and specification.

Course Aims

If you need to know about lighting for your profession or sector, but you only require knowledge to a particular level, it may lead you to enrol onto a short course that isn’t actually relevant or suitable for your needs? You may need to obtain awareness at a technical or academic level, but do not wish to – nor need to – undertake a university degree or full-time course commitment?

Our unique qualification will provide you with the tools for furthering your professional potential – developing your understanding of lighting theory and developing your skills in practice.

The lighting awareness workshops we provide are tailored to your requirements and aim to go beyond assisting you with energy effective lighting solutions - you will learn to confidently advise your clients on lighting issues by understanding the principles of light and lighting – and how to achieve an Energy Effective lighting scheme.

What qualification will I receive?

On completion you will recieve a qualification recognised by the Society of Light and Lighting (SLL)*, and the CPD Institute.

*The SLL recognise this course as the equivelent to a single LIF Advanced Certificate. This course will therfore contirbute towards further education at Higher Education (MSc) level.
